The Mars 2020 Perseverance mission launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on July 30, 2020. It is set to land on the Jezero Crater on the Red Planet on Feb. 18, 2021. While there, the Perseverance rover will seek signs of ancient microbial life and collect rock and soil samples for a possible return to Earth. These samples may help pave the way for human exploration beyond the Moon.
