The Cradle of Aviation Museum will host its Annual Long Island STEM Career Expo on November 7, 2022, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm!
About the Long Island STEM Career Expo
The Career Expo is open to all Long Island schools. The purpose of the event is to expose as many 10th and 11th-grade students to the various careers and applications in STEM disciplines especially here on Long Island.
Exhibitors, professionals, and local colleges will feature their careers, conduct hands-on demonstrations and showcase real-world applications of STEM. Fields of study will include healthcare, aerospace, engineering, renewable energy, manufacturing, homeland security, information technology, aviation, and more.
This initiative will help students gain real-world skills, make early connections to the breadth of employment available to them, and help improve the way the region prepares its workforce through industry-demand educational opportunities.
Need More Information?
The Long Island STEM Career Expo will be held at the Cradle of Aviation located at 1 Davis Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530. The cost for the event is FREE. Students should bring a bagged lunch. For additional information, please contact Catherine Gonzalez, Education Director, at 516-572-4028 or [email protected].
Are you a local STEM industry leader?
Would your organization like to present to 10th and 11th-grade high school students at the Expo? Presenter tables will be set up throughout the museum galleries in such a way that student groups will be able to rotate in 10-15 minute intervals to each table. This will be a great way for the students to learn about what your company or institution can offer when they are choosing a career path.
If you are able to present at this event, email Thomas Barry at [email protected] by November 2, 2022.
